Society Plans for 2010

Our vision for 2010 includes the expansion of our scholarship program, as finances allow; improved communication with all members of the Society, utilizing modern technology; and greater involvement of Society members through the use of sub-committees populated by all Society members, not just members of the Board of Directors.

We welcome your suggestions and input throughout the year.

Contributions

The HFS accepts contributions from individuals desiring to assist in its scholarship and humanitarian efforts. All contributions are US tax deductible and will be applied to HFS projects as determined appropriate by the Board of Directors. 100% of contributions will be applied to projects, not to any administratvie expenses.

The IRS does not allow us to contribute monies directly to individuals, so you may not recommend your contributions be applied to a specific person. However, if you wish your monies to be applied to scholarship recipients from a particular area (Africa, South America, etc.), we will attempt to follow your lead. However, it remains a decision of the Board of Directors.

All applicants may not be awarded scholarships. Each award is determined based on meeting the IRS stipulated guidelines, completing the appropriate application and supporting documentation, and also on the applicant's need. The Board of Directors reserves the right to deny or award the scholarships.

All checks should be made payable to the HFS as written below and mailed to:
